Project Description
Founded in 1923 as South Park Junior College and renamed in 1932 to honor Mirabeau B. Lamar, Lamar University has grown into a leading public institution within the Texas State University System. The university is recognized for its excellence in engineering, career-focused education, and research, recently earning a Carnegie R2 classification for "High Research Activity." As Texas experiences rapid population growth and top-tier universities tighten admissions, Lamar's enrollment continues to rise. Entering its 10th decade, this momentum underscored the critical need for a strategic campus master plan to guide future growth and transformation.
