Project Description
Rising seven stories at a prominent gateway to the Cockrell School of Engineering district, the Engineering Discovery Building (EDB) responds to a critical need for modern, flexible space that can keep pace with the rapid evolution of engineering research and education. Designed as the new home for the Hildebrand Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering and the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, the EDB replaces outdated facilities with an integrated environment that supports interdisciplinary discovery, industry partnership, and hands-on learning. More than a building, it represents a strategic investment in the future of engineering, advancing recruitment, faculty development, and student success while reinforcing the university’s leadership in research.
